Time Off to Vote

In some states such as New York and California, it is mandatory to post a notice. Some states have their own voting time off regulations. Is your state on the list?

  • NY – Posting required. Paid time off is required in certain instances. Click here to download your NY poster.
  • NJ – Currently does not have voting time off regulations.
  • MA – Unpaid time off to vote is required in certain industries. Click here for details.
  • MD – Paid time off is required in certain instances. Click here for details.
  • IN – Currently does not have voting time off regulations.
  • FL – Currently does not have voting time off regulations.

Even if your state does not have voting leave regulations, it is good practice to set your own policy to allow time off for voting. Most states that do not have a policy allow a two-hour window. Some paid and some unpaid depending on the scenario.
