Client Memo: NYS DOL Increases Salary Thresholds For Exempt Executive And Administrative Employees – Effective 12/31/16

Client Memo: NYS DOL Increases Salary Thresholds - TBM Payroll

Dear Clients,

As expected, the NYS DOL passed the salary threshold increases for exempt executive and administrative employees… I have shared the announcement from our labor attorney’s blog below.

What this means

If you have any exempt executive or administrative employees who are paid less than the current thresholds, you must increase their salary to at or above that threshold or you must reclassify them as nonexempt by December 31st.

A chart summarizing the changes can be reviewed by following this link – see page 3.

So far, no news on the US DOL changes.

Please review your exempt employee salaries ASAP and report any necessary salary changes to your client service representative at TBM. If you need a report of your salaries, please contact them directly.

We will be following the DOL for changes and will update you if needed.
